‘Finding Farideh’ to head to Zurich

Iranian doc ‘Finding Farideh’ makes it to the Iranian Film Festival Zurich in Switzerland.

Iranian feature-length documentary ‘Finding Farideh’, co-directed by Azadeh Mousavi and Kourosh Ataee, has made it to the Iranian Film Festival of Zurich (IFFZ) in Switzerland.

The film will be screened at the 5th edition of the IFFZ which will take place on March 28-April 03, 2019.

The story of 'Finding Farideh' begins with a newspaper report which reads a young woman who was adopted by a Dutch family is looking for her biological parents.

Last month, the documentary was screened at the 16th edition of the Big Sky Film Festival in the US.

'Finding Farideh' also represented Iran at the 2018 edition of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in Australia.

The film has received various awards at several festivals, including the Cinema Verite international documentary film festival in Iran and Iran Documentary Independent Award.

The IFFZ aims to fill the cultural gap between Iranians and Swiss as well as the many foreigners living in Switzerland.

The IFFZ define itself as “a platform for presenting the Iranian culture and tradition and for building a bridge between different cultures by the means of the universal language of art – and especially the 7th art, cinema.”
